A Brew from Abroad

I’m here to help you find the best and most unique coffee spots across Glasgow, offering a more distinctive experience than your regular chain stores. For my first post to this blog I'm starting with the Ottoman Coffeehouse located at Charing Cross. In other stores you often feel a sense of urgency, whereas here, there was a very laid-back mood that allowed customers to feel at home. With décor and products themed off of their travels to Istanbul, there truly isn’t another place like this in Glasgow.

The menu offered a range of items, with numerous products that I had never tried, or in some cases, heard of before. I decided to go for the Original Pistachio Baklava, which was amazing, paired with a latte and an almond biscuit. They also offer a number of different types of coffees, differing from the offerings of usual coffee spots.

With the theme of the location based upon Turkish décor, its no wonder the place looked magnificent. Countless ornaments, books, paintings etc. made the place truly stand out against other coffeehouses. There were also a number of games made available, like chess, cards and board games for customers to enjoy.

Any questions asked regarding the coffeeshop or items on the menu were promptly answered in detail by the staff. They ensured a fantastic experience for any customer coming through the door, which I saw with their encounters with other customers and myself.

Located by Charing Cross, in the West End of Glasgow, the Ottoman Coffeehouse is very easy to access for those wanting to visit, especially if you stay in the West End.

If you are looking for a new coffee spot to try, I couldn’t recommend this place more. Offering an experience you aren’t likely to find anywhere else in Glasgow, it is an absolute must try for coffee enthusiasts across the city.
