A Journey through Time

As I finish my journey finding unique coffee spots around Glasgow, the fifth and final spot I will showcase to you is 1841. Situated in the West End of Glasgow, this small spot is a perfect place to enjoy your coffee. Offering a number of different roasts sourced locally and globally, there really is no shortage here of hot drinks to enjoy.

Opening up during lockdown, this new location offers a relaxing atmosphere, with a large focus on community. It offers a wide range of roasts, globally and locally sourced. The most popular being the collaboration they have with Thomson’s Coffee Roasters, one of the oldest roasteries in all of Scotland. They have a fantastic variety of pastries and cakes to accompany your drink of choice, with my personal favourite being the Classic Chocolate Brownie.

The light-filled interior offers a great atmosphere for enjoying your brew, alone or with friends. All the staff were also very attentive and chatty, which created a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Situated on Vinicombe St, just off Byre’s Road, it sits in a fantastic and central location for those in West End. Additionally, just two minutes walk away is Hillhead subway station, so it’s easy to travel to.

1841 stands out as a fantastic spot to round off my coffee adventure in Glasgow. Its warm ambiance, excellent coffee offerings, and thoughtful menu create a space where both quality and community shine. With its great location in the West End and inviting atmosphere, it’s ideal for relaxing solo or meeting up with friends. If you’re after a memorable coffee experience in the city, 1841 won’t disappoint.
