A Journey through Time

Image
As I finish my journey finding unique coffee spots around Glasgow, the fifth and final spot I will showcase to you is 1841. Situated in the West End of Glasgow, this small spot is a perfect place to enjoy your coffee. Offering a number of different roasts sourced locally and globally, there really is no shortage here of hot drinks to enjoy. Opening up during lockdown, this new location offers a relaxing atmosphere, with a large focus on community. It offers a wide range of roasts, globally and locally sourced. The most popular being the collaboration they have with Thomson’s Coffee Roasters, one of the oldest roasteries in all of Scotland. They have a fantastic variety of pastries and cakes to accompany your drink of choice, with my personal favourite being the Classic Chocolate Brownie. The light-filled interior offers a great atmosphere for enjoying your brew, alone or with friends. All the staff were also very attentive and chatty, which created a friendly and welcoming atmo...

With a range of different roasts to choose from and enjoy, this is another must-try to add to the list. Offering a wide array of pastries and coffees, it might be difficult to decide what to get. But from my many visits there I’ve learned, not single item on the menu will disappoint! With lots of   brilliant pastries and sandwiches to accompany your beverage of choice, it’s an overall lovely experience from start to finish. Not only do they have brilliant food and drink, but the staff were lovely with every visit. I was always greeted with a   smile, and any questions I had were answered with ease. They ensured my experience was enjoyable, checking in with me in regards to my order, and asking...

A Brew from Abroad

Image
I’m here to help you find the best and most unique coffee spots across Glasgow, offering a more distinctive experience than your regular chain stores. For my first post to this blog I'm starting with the  Ottoman Coffeehouse located at Charing Cross. In other stores you often feel a sense of urgency, whereas here, there was a very laid-back mood that allowed customers to feel at home. With décor and products themed off of their travels to Istanbul, there truly isn’t another place like this in Glasgow. The menu offered a range of items, with numerous products that I had never tried, or in some cases, heard of before. I decided to go for the Original Pistachio Baklava, which was amazing, paired with a latte and an almond biscuit. They also offer a number of different types of coffees, differing from the offerings of usual coffee spots.  My coffee and pastry With the theme of the location based upon Turkish décor, its no wonder the place looked magnificent. Countless ornaments...
